James Kamp

Partner/Visual Evangelist

JK is co-founder and producer/director of visuals.  He has spent much of his 20-plus years in documentary visual journalism fusing the overlapping spheres of video, still and multimedia storytelling.  Education being a life-long passion, he has also led workshops for journalists and school children alike and created training programs in the art of visual story telling.

From elementary kids to factory workers to retirees, JK brings a humanistic touch to his work that captures the essence of a subject with an eye for graphic composition.

He has been honored with awards from the University of Missouri School of Journalism and the World Press Foundation.  His storytelling has ranged from producing projects on the issues of young children in poverty, a history of the U.S. 20th Century told thru the eyes 100+ year-olds to portraits of authors, artists and CEOs.   His assignments have been aimed at a swath of audiences for The New York Times, TIME Magazine and HBO as well as grass roots institutions such as his local YMCA and is currently working on a long term production for the New Canaan (Conn.) Country School‘s pioneering Horizons program that lifts low income K-12 kids with the goal for. higher ed.

Oh, yes, he’s also  a well-aged dad of teenage girls (no comment), perspiring chef and adamant chocoholic.
